So I walk into the sauna after a workout with my man Ted. I sit down next to this man who is way larger than me. He's talking to his girl about football and I ask him if he is on the football team. I talk to him for a little while and I realize I never got his name.
"What's your name?" I ask.
"Arrelious," he says in a light voice.
"Benn?" I ask.
"Yeah," he says.
For those who don't know Arrelious is the 5 star wide receiver recruit Zook pulled down in 2007.
Since then Benn has not gotten the ball enough in Zook's offense but shined when he has. The frustration has apparently boiled over. I asked him what he planned to do after this year.
"I'm out. I gotta move on, man," Benn said. "I'm a top 10 pick."
Benn said he has avoided talking to agents, as discussions between amateur athletes and NFL agents is not allowed.
But with that, Benn unofficially announced his plan to leave early.

ReplyDeleteGood! I think he should leave the team early. Really, what is Illinois football doing for him? He's wasting away his youth, talent, and health on that team. I want to watch him catch some sweet passes on the field for DA BEARS!
