The orchestra or conductor?

Draft gurus will be watching Saturday's match up between Miami and Oklahoma for many reasons. However, the most interesting theme may be Sam Bradford's absence. A potential number one overall pick after last season, Bradford chose to return for another year of college. While he was only a sophomore at the time, it made sense that he wanted to spend another year honing his skills on the lower level. Plus, college is great (especially when your Big Man on Campus, although this journalist wouldn't quite know about that). But the argument of "Why go back when you know your draft stock can never get better" came up big when he went down with a shoulder injury in the very first game. While Bradford has been off visiting sports injury God Dr. James Andrews freshman QB Landry Jones has been running the ship. And doing it well, throwing for 9 TDs and leading Oklahoma to two blowout victories. However, the talent around Jones may be shinning while their light is only illuminating him. Jones is completing his passes at a 60.5% rate. That is coming against two cupcakes with Tulsa and Idaho State frosting. When filling in for Bradford in Oklahoma's season opening loss, Jones went 6-12 for 51 yds. Not every Bradfordesque. Bradford consistently torches defenses like Tulsa for 75% completion ratings and was 10-14 with a TD before he went down in the BYU game. Jones is no Bradford. Not yet atleast. Look for Jones to look jittery in his first career road game against a defense facing it's fourth consecutive ranked offense. Miami 17 Oklahoma 10.
