As another great year in baseball comes to end and the playoffs just a week away its time to find out who the awards are going to go to. From MVP to rookie of the year its time for me to let you know who should win the awards.
NL
MVP- Albert Pujols- With a .328 Batting Average, 47 homeruns, 134 RBI's, .445 on base percentage, and .663 slugging percentage Albert Pujols is an easy win for the MVP this year.
Cy Young- Chris Carpenter- With a 17-4 record, 2.24 ERA, 144 in Strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.01 Chris wins a close race with his teammate Adam Wainwright and Tim Linecum
Rookie of the Year- J.A. Happ- 12-4, 2.85 ERA, 118 Strikeouts, and a 1.22 WHIP Happ has helped the Phillies win another NL East title. He has a bright future ahead of him in the MLB.
AL
MVP- Whats wrong with Derek Jeter. At age 35 he's got a .335 average, 18 homeruns, only 66 RBI's but he bats in the 2 hole, .407 on base percentage, and a .467 slugging percentage. With a year that has no outstanding MVP candidate I give it the Jeter, the best player of our generation.
Cy Young- Hands down Zack Greinke. With a staggering 2.06 ERA, 16-8 on a team with a record of 64-92, 237 strikouts, and a WHIP{of 1.07 Greinke wins the Cy Young. Greinke has allowed 1 run or fewer in 17 of his 32 starts and deserves to win the Cy Young.
Rookie of the Year- Elvis Andrus. At the age of 21 he has a .268 Batting average, 6 homeruns, 37 RBI's, .329 on base percentage, .372 slugging percentage, but that's not the most impressive. As a rookie he is a Gold Glove caliber shortstop. He will win many in his career.
