TBG's NBA Preview

The NBA is here! Back to long nights watching West Coast ball on TNT and ESPN. First off, the Bulls are back. Now a mix of Baby and Vet Bulls I expect them to improve on last year's run and make it to the second round. They are still a couple years from contender status but look for Derrick Rose and Tyrus Thomas to leave Bulls fans thinking big after this season. Also look for both rooks, James Johnson and Taj Gibson, to contribute.
In other news my second favorite squad, and favorite player, are back! People are going to start taking the Oklahoma City Thunder seriously this year. With an outstanding young core of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Jeff Green the Thunder are a couple years of experience and a couple vet role players away from dynasty contention. KD could easily win the scoring title this year if he wanted to but look for him to score slightly less than last year as he improves his Assist/Turnover ratio and rebounding. This guy could be on LeBron status in not too long.
The Celtics and Spurs both sport ridiculous starting 5's. And with veteran leadership dripping from both rosters I expect them to meet for the NBA championship. That's right. No Magic. No Lakers.
I believe a healthy Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker can outperform Kobe and Derek Fisher. Tim Duncan is a Hall of Famer to be and Richard Jefferson will fit in perfectly. Also look for DeJuan Blair to contribute off the bench. If you can't tell I am big on the Spurs this year and have them as my champion.

Rookie of the Year: Steph Curry- The Davidson scoring machine will love Nellyball. Look for him to shoot early and often and capture voter's hearts with occasional scoring outbursts.

MVP: Dwayne Wade- In a year of stacked teams a man pulling his team into the playoffs on his own will hold the MVP crown. His numbers were comparable to LeBron's last year and he will play on the same level again.

Most Improved Player: Tyrus Thomas- The Chicago Bull improved drastically second half last season and will let it be known throughout the league that he will be a force for years.
