Already a glorious 1-0 with the 49er's W, I look to continue my winning ways with more picks. Last week didn't go so hot as my search for a perfect week formula blew up in my face. Back in the lab to try again.
Titans over Bills- The man to watch in this game is Jairus Byrd. The rookie out of Oregon has 7 INTs in his last 4 games including 3 consecutive 2 INT games! Look for that streak to end today as the Titans keep it conservative with Vince Young continuing to work into the offense.
Saints over Rams- The Saints should just spot the Rams 21 points and ball and start at the second half just to make this thing interesting. Saints win in a Brees.
Dolphins over Bucs- Rookie QB Josh Freeman won his opener over the Pack, going big with 3 TDs. OLB Joey Porter is out due to a fishy coaches decision. It's tougher to win on the road in the NFL. The rookie will learn the hard way.
Vikings over Lions- Actually thought about picking the Lions...
Jets over Jags- Third straight game with a rookie QB. Sanchez has bounced back well since his 5 INT debacle in Buffalo, 3 TDs 0 INTs 408 yards over the last 2 games. The Jags are hit-or-miss. On the road they miss. You didn't really believe me about the Lions did you?
Bengals over Steelers- The Bengals have made a believer out of me. The Steelers are red hot, ripping off 5 straight victories, but the NFL is crazy. And the Bengals have proven more to me with 2 wins over the Ravens and a W in the first game of this AFC North series.
Broncos over Racists- The Broncs have dropped 2 straight but the Racists have dropped 4 straight. Orton and that defense get back on track as the Zorn Watch continues.
Falcons over Panthers- Really thought about this one. The Panthers are playing better lately but an emotional loss at New Orleans make this one tough. Some of Panthers have to be thinking the season left last week after moving to 3-5 rather than 4-4.
Chiefs over Raiders- Game of the Century right here folks! The formerly incomparable JaMarcus Russell, thank you Derek Anderson, has a chance to break out this week. No, not because he is facing the lowly Chiefs, but Anderson is sitting this week! Russell can really separate this week in his run for Worst QB. A couple INTs and a sub-40 completion percentage could wow voters. Oh yeah, Chiefs rally around Larry Johnson's departure and create a positive for an organization starved for one.
Cowboys over Packers- DeMarcus Ware meet Aaron Rodgers. Aaron meet DeMarcus. And the Lambeau grass. The Original Contract Boosters will have a pretty easy job this week considering they are facing an opponent who actually should get a couple sacks. God, I don't even want to start imagining how this game is going to unfold. Just hope Ware doesn't take Rodgers head back to Dallas with him.
Cards over Seahawks- Hawks are winless on the road while the Redbirds are 1-3 at home after going 6-2 last year. Warner continues his hot streak after torching Da Bears for 5 TDs last week.
Eagles over Chargers- But the Bolts are hot you say? 3 straight wins? Oakland, Kansas City and a miracle 1-pointer over NY Giants ain't impressin' me. Eagles rebound from their Dallas debacle in a battle of great receiving Jacksons. My boy DeSean is the better of the two by the way.
Colts over Pats- Brady's Bunch are 1-2 on the road this year. Peyton Manning knows that and the number of catches the Pat's nickelback allowed in each of those games as well. He's the MVP so far and it's starting to feel like another Peyton year.
Ravens over Browns- My Super Bowl team have one hell of a schedule. This game is a brief respite from Dante's Inferno. A loss here though would result in an immediate 1 way trip to the 8th Circle (Fraud).
